Hot pink isn’t on everyone’s  list of easy colors to wear. It can make a rosy complexion look even rosier, and overwhelm fair skin. Well, I have both those things, and I love wearing hot pink, and I only just found that out in my 61st year. So don’t be timid about trying a new/bold color: our tastes change, our skin changes, and a color we once ruled out can become a best friend.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post.

This is a run around town and have dinner out with my husband look. The black trousers (similar) are cropped and cool, thrifted in NYC and by AllSaints. I love the loose fit and the pockets. Print blouse (sim) was also thrifted, as well as the J. Crew cashmere cardigan.

I like to wear cropped pants with oxfords (sim) – Sandy calls it an “Annie Hall” look, and that’s a compliment to me! A feminine pink vintage bracelet (sim), gifted by a dear friend, finished the outfit. And the great Ellen Wille hair – it can take a brisk wind.

  1. That is such a cool look – the hot pink cardigan is simply ace and suits you so well. You look great!

  2. Glad you tried the hot pink , it suits you beautifully . I also must agree , love your Annie Hall vibe with the crop pants and brogues. Thank you for hosting.

  3. Pink really suits you Patti! The cardigan looks lovely with the floral print top underneath. I’ve just been going through my clothes and found a silk top in hot pink that I bought on eBay ages ago…just in time for Spring! Hope you have a great week 🙂

  4. I think that hot pink and also a bright turquoise are universally complimentary to every complexion! You are no exception. I think your little feline buddy likes it too; he seems to have moved in closer to you! =-)
I’m vascilating on this style of cropped pants. I know they’re the trendy look but I’m not sure that length is flattering on ever body type. You look great in them Patti.
I’d love to know more about the hair look!! I followed the link in your post. Beautiful product.

  5. I think the hot pink looks great on you. It’s good to be open to trying new things no matter what our age. I stayed away from pink for most of my adulthood, but now I have a hot pink winter coat that I love, and always get compliments on, such is the power of PINK!

  6. It’s amazing that as much as I love pink I don’t have a lot in my closet! I am working on it though. I love your pink sweater! As always I think I can smell the ocean when I look at your pictures.

  7. Hey Patti! I’m not really a pink girl, only having a couple of items, but I love this hot pink! And really I’m loving the shoes the most. Thanks for hosting the link-up as always! And reminding me as always!

  8. Patti! Your hair is looking FAB!
I’m hoping Pao catches how I deployed the purse that she gave me at the 07/2015 VBC meetup, since she isn’t on either Instagram nor Facebook, where my link look appeared. I use it for all my Otis teaching digital gear and the unique clasp allowed me to drape it around my neck. I felt ridiculous but had my music while I scanned 23 Oscar sketches in the school’s computer lab. (Lots of jumping up and down when scanning and I had no breast pocket).

  9. I love you in bright pink.
Never say never – I used to avoid pink like the plague now I love it! xxx

  10. I have an almost identical cardigan, Patti! I love that shade and it looks great on you. There’s a pink for everyone and I’m glad to see it’s firmly in fashion this spring.

  11. If you love it wear it anyway! You look fabulous. I am not ‘supposed’ to wear hot pink either with my rosy cheeks and reddish hair. Doesn’t stop me 😉 x

  12. Bright pink is the best color on you Patti!! Look at how it livens up your face and really stands out!!
I should send this to my mother—she just bought a pair of ankle pants—and them made them longer! I told her that they look great as the original length—she wasn’t buying it!!

  13. I do agree you look splendid in bold bright pink.

As long as we’re always open to learning we will never grow old. (she says…hopefully!)

  14. Oh, hot pink!!! My favourite colour! And it can look fantastic with pale skin, and it’s so kind to our middle-aged faces, making us look rosy and sweet. You look fabulous, and of course you can wear hot pink.
