One of the reasons it’s so much fun to dress for cool weather is all the layering choices. Summer style is more challenging, because we can’t bear too many layers. Some days, just underthings seem like enough.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post.

I’ve found a favorite summer style “uniform” to stay cool, yet creative. I layer a weightless, floaty top over a weightless, floaty dress, or cotton tank dress. I have a handful of these dresses (sim). This one is by Mado Et Les Autres, and it’s a lovely one, åon its own or as a layer. The airy top (sim) was thrifted for $2 at the Molly Mutt. And the new-at-the-thrift black platform shoes (sim) are by Gentle Souls, and incredibly comfortable.

Also wearing one of my favorite hairstyles, the Gala by Gabor, in Sugared Silver. I love looking all silver up top. The green deco-style pendant was a birthday gift from Sandy.

The patio plants are growing like mad in the summer. I’ll have to rename them “Audrey”.

Now, let’s see what’s in your closet, Visible Women.

The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple:

    1. Whoever wants to can join in! Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.
    2. Include a link to Not Dead Yet Style somewhere in your post.
    3. Go to the bottom of this post and click on the InLinkz button “Add Your Link”. It should open a new page.
    4. In the “Next Step”, you crop the pic (easy tool) you want to display, and you’re done!

  1. You look cool as a cucumber in these light weight , float layers Patti! Cute summer hairdo as well!

  2. Such a fun style, Patti! I love layering, and love your idea for milder summer days! Your plants look wonderful too. I don’t seem to do well with succulents. I know…they need Florida sun! 🙂

  3. You look lovely in these photos as usual Patti – you have an eye for those thrift shop finds!
Thank you for hosting and have a great week 🙂
    Helen x

  4. Someone’s been playing with the wigs again! How fun to have hair options to experiment with. I am all about floaty, lightweight layers in the summer; usually a big top over some big pants, or a long loose skirt.

  5. Oh to have the dilemma of which whispy layer to add over the next! Our British weather is changeable as ever with rain and high winds one day followed by sun and showers the next. You look adorable in that cute silver hairpiece Patti, and the lightweight layers are uber feminine too.

Wishing you a fab week ahead x

  6. You are looking pretty and comfy! These are not always words used in the same sentence! I also like the sexy summer hairdo!

  7. It rarely gets truly hot here, but I agree that dresses are the best choice for summer. Love this look on you and the hair is wonderful!

  8. Happy Monday Patti!
You look so beautiful in that top, I love the cut of it and I hope you have an amazing day!xoxo

  9. Your hair looks so good! Lovely layering skills.
No layers for this sun starved Brit, I’ll be so excited to feel warmth on my skin I’ll be stripping off completely! xxx

  10. This looks like a wonderfully weightless ensemble that floats away from the body. When heat and humidity come full force in summer that is the best choice.

    bisous

  11. I love your hair! How fun! I also think layering is the key to dressing in almost any climate. I layer here in the mountains all the time. It’s functional but adds so much detail to an outfit! Peace!

  12. I haven’t much explored layering tops over dresses, but that must open up some exciting possibilities! Love the pendant. Have a good week x

  13. I love a summer outfit like this because there are no visible bra straps, yet you’re still cool! I hate hot weather… xx

  14. I love this layered look, Patti! I bought a very lightweight kimono last year and plan on getting a couple more to do some layering in the summer…

Thanks for the link up & have a wonderful week!

  15. Love your hair! Did you have the Gala styled or is it just the way you received it. You look fabulous….

    • I just wore it out of the box, I like it messy. Thanks for your kind words, xo

  16. Although I always love your,, messy,, hairdo(if I may say it like that, I also wear it,, messy,,),I also love this shorter look!

  17. You look very cool. And comfortable. I don’t know how you do it. Hot weather is definitely a challenge for me, and whatever I wear always seems wrong…
