I love stripes, as most of us do. I like them in unexpected ways, like on my socks and phone case.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Link back to Not Dead Yet Style if you like – we’re on Easy Does It “rules” now!

Today I’m going a more predictable route, with a new-to-me striped tunic (similar), over a ruffled-hem dress (sim). I like the way the colors play together – the under-dress is a deep gray. It almost looks like the dress was created this way. A favorite black beaded necklace fashioned by Suzanne Carillo, and a turquoise stone bracelet (sim) are my decorations.

In the pic above I photo-shopped out the nasty scars on my right arm, from wearing the external fixator. Below, I just tattooed over them with cheery icons.  Hmmm, tattoos?

  1. Love those stripes on you. And so very glad your wrist is better and without the amazing metal things. Glad you’re healing x

  2. I love the tunic over that beautiful ruffled him slip dress. I also am a big fan of stripes. I hope you have a wonderful week. Sending hugs from New York. Great photo shop job, love the “tattoos ” !

Blog is down today for maintenance…

  3. That’s a very Flapper-esque outfit, Patti, what with the long line top and Suzanne’s tassel pendant. It looks fabulous.
Very happy to see your wrist again – with added tattoos. xxx

  4. Glad to see your external fixator is gone! And the beautiful tats that are in its place. Great outfit combo, has a ’20s vibe for me, probably because of the illusion of the dropped waist. I’m a sucker for stripes too. Thanks for the linkup!

  5. You wear your stripes well Patti. I like thae contrast of a sporty stripe and a girly ruffle too!
I used to do a fake tatoo on a spider vein cluster I have on my left leg. It was fun, camouflaged it pretty well and was changeable! Now (as Suzanne also mentioned) there would just be too many tatoos!

  6. This looks like a contemporary version of French chic to me. Well, sans the tattoos ; )

Gosh Jodie’s idea about tattooing over spider veins is a good one, except that’d mean my whole legs would be tattooed.

  7. That is such a fun look. Mazel tov on your 25 years together! Love is a wonderful thing.

    Hope your healing continues well.

  8. How creative to wear a dress over a dress. This looks amazing. I love the lace hem look you created.

  9. I laughed when I read the first line because I’m wearing striped socks right now, myself! How can you not love stripes? Pairing with that flouncy skirt and Suzanne’s necklace definitely gives it a 1920s vibe. Also, love ti with those booties!

  10. What a fun idea to wear the striped tunic over a ruffle hem dress! The cheery icons camouflaging your scars are fun too. I have long scars, looking like a railroad tracks, on both sides of my left arm. I’ve had them for 36 years now, and most of the time I forget they are there. Hope your arm is heeling well which, of course, is the most important thing! xxx

  11. Loving the stripes. I find that I don’t wear as many stripe pieces in the Fall/Winter as I do in the summer, but I want to work on that.

  12. You look very fun and elegant, Patti! This really looks like a dress designed that way, and your accessories are perfect! And I like the colorful “tattoos” you “tried on”!

  13. Off setting the stripes with the ruffles is so refreshing and I love the idea. I’m glad the cast is off-I know I always had a sigh of relief when I didn’t have mine on anymore. Do you have to go to any therapy. My break involved a few bones in the wrist so I had to a little of that.

  14. This layering look is great and the mix of stripes and lace is fabulous. You look fantastic. I have a small scar on my forearm that I’ve considered camouflaging with a tattoo so I say, go for it. Thanks for the inspirations to stay visible.

  15. Oh gosh, Patti, I hope your arm is feeling SO much better now. I love the ruffles peeking out from under your tunic. It totally changes it! xx
