Color is probably the easiest way to change up your style. Adding texture (leather, faux fur, beading, feathers, patterned knits, et al) is also an easy and enjoyable way to add personality to your outfits. Pam from Grey Is The New Black is lovely in a pale pink sweater. The cable knit makes it more eye-catching. Even a simple pattern to your knits makes everything more fun. Love the way Pam combines pink with grey too:
Suzanne of Suzanne Carillo is a goddess in a tall body-con dress – in velvet. It’s harder to see in pictures but velvet is a style-maker for certain. Suzanne’s long coat is velvet too, yes it is.

Jill of Grownup Glamour combines a fabulous short leather jacket with her new print blouse and Japanese-style folded trousers. A leather jacket, or even a leather vest or wide belt, is a great way to add texture.
Gorgeous Alicia of Spashionista added lots of texture to her party-ready outfit. She’s rocking faux fur, and multiple sequins, and keeps her underneath layers simple. Now just imagine this look in a plain wool coat, nope.
Trina of Tea Time With Trina is doing monochromatic dressing today, but with a knit, beaded (texture) sweater and satin-y (texture) pleated skirt. You can’t see it here, but go to her site and check out her floral textured hose too, fantastic:
