One of the positives about getting older is our willingness to take more chances, and give fewer “farks” about how others judge our style. This is a great age to step out of our comfort zone, experiment with fashion, and keep hunting for stylish low-heeled shoes.

Welcome to Visible Monday. If you want to participate, it’s so easy: just go to the bottom of this post for the how-to. Please be kind and leave a link to Not Dead Yet Style in your post.

I already have a deep love for big, full skirts,  and this one is both those things, as well as an explosion of color. I found it at Modcloth on a good sale. My big fashion risk – I stepped outside my comfort zone with a clashing print jacket (thrifted, by Trina Turk, sim). Some fake pearls (sim) and blue suede wedges (sim) finish the look. I feel happy and sassy outside my zone.

Here I’m back in the comfort zone, with a black Trina Turk blazer (love her stuff), looking more mainstream. Which look do you prefer?

Now, let’s see what’s in your closet, Visible Women.

The guidelines to participate in the Visible Monday Link-Up are so simple:

    1. Whoever wants to can join in! Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.
    2. Include a link to Not Dead Yet Style somewhere in your post.
    3. Go to the bottom of this post and click on the InLinkz button “Add Your Link”. It should open a new page.
    4. In the “Next Step”, you crop the pic (easy tool) you want to display, and you’re done!

Oh hey! Not Dead Yet Style is on Instagram! Please check it out when you have a moment: Instagram.

Stay fabulous,

  2. I cannot choose as I like them both. It would depend on my mood I guess. I will add my current look to Visible Monday and one which was way out of my comfort zone too haha.

PS I will link back next Sunday

  3. I love the clash the most Patti!
You look sassy and someone who is up for fun :o).
The full skirt is a beauty but those shoes are stealing the show for me.
Great style and beautiful bold colour!

  4. Stunning mix of prints Patti! The full skirt and nipped in waist of the jacket work so well together. I love both looks but I prefer the first one. The print of the skirt is beautiful. Thanks for hosting, hope you have a great week!

  5. That’s an amazing skirt – absolutely love it. Actually the first look is the best. Pattern on pattern – wear it if you can. And you rock it!

  6. Patti I must say that I think the patterned jacket not only looks fab, but knocks 10 years off you compared to the sedate black blazer. I love that you’re mixing up your patterns and do hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for the link up party.

  7. I love EVERYTHING about your outfit – the one with mixed prints (though the second look is also very pretty)! It says it all – your love of style, your love of life, the joy you feel! You own it, Patti

  8. Both are great, but I prefer the fun and fabulous pattern mix! The skirt makes such a wonderful statement no matter what you pair it with, though. 🙂

  9. I love a good print mix, and I think this totally works! The skirt is beautiful, I bet you get lots of use out of that! xx

  10. I love the Chanel like jacket with the glorious floreal skirt. Wonderful look and wonderful you.
    Much love, dear Patt

  11. Guess which look I like better? No. 1. I LOVE that look. You could slap all your troubles away with that sassy combo. I am more used to seeing you in look 2, but I am so on board if you decide to walk more on the wild side. Your eye is right on!

  12. Either works but the first is definately more fun .Love the print on your skirt, so pretty. The joy of ageing being free to play and suit yourself.

  13. I have to admit, that I am WAY more adventurous now—at this age and after blogging!! There is still part of me that tends toward the more conservative—but it’s way more fun to have a little sass & interest!! So I totally vote for the first outfit, Patti!!

  14. I think with the black blazer it is more you. It would be me with the black and white blazer. However, you pull off both looks very well.

  15. Oooh! I like the first one best : ). But I’m sure you already knew that.

I’d wear that first outfit in a heartbeat.

ModCloth often tempts me with their skirts and shoes.

  16. I like both of these on you, though I agree that you’d possibly want to consider the occasion for each outfit. The plain blazer would be more appropriate for a work event or, say, a more somber occasion. But both are cute on you!

  17. That skirt is fantastic! I like the first look best just because it is so sassy and confident – I would never have thought to put those items together but they totally work!

  18. I guess, it would depend where I was going to wear it. I like black and white with strong colors and for shopping or the art museum, I would try the multi patterned. But if I was going to a professional networking event, I would go with the more mainstream. You have to remember where I live, smack in the middle of the country and that makes some difference to what folks are use to seeing.
