Life Without Power; Gorgeous Mid-Life Women

We are still without power as I write this, on Tuesday night. (I have loads of personal power, but no lights
: >) We do have water, and that’s a great blessing. Living off the grid, however, is not all it’s cracked up to be.

We are fortunate to still have a habitable home, and no injuries. Many in South Florida are not lucky enough to say the same. Still, we all tend to focus on our own problems, especially the ones that are right in our faces. And right now, a blast of air conditioned air, a warm shower, and most of all, internet access would be dreamy.

Old habits die hard, and I still flip the light switch on every time I enter the bathroom. One of our beloved cats had a huge hairball last night – on the new carpet of course – and without lights it was hard to find it all until the sun came up today. We love you, Stinky, but how about just one of your hairballs landing in the tiled kitchen?

Soon all this will pass. And turning to brighter things, here are some of my favorite and fabulous outfits from Visible Monday this week:

Go Boho, all the way: Andrea of Living On Cloud Nine is Boho fabulous, in a floppy hat, big shades, and a great retro-style print dress. Love those booties too.

Mix those prints and let your fabulous hair fly free: Rena of Fine, Whatever is mixing large and small florals, and looking terrific. Those tuxedo trousers are unexpected and cool. And of course everywhere she goes, Rena wears that glorious hair.FWB-UDAA-cargo-vest-090917-31

Simple, elegant florals: Jess of Elegantly Dressed And Stylish is elegant by nature, and this slim 60’s style floral dress is perfect for her. Of course she also rocks the accessories.

Embroidery is the boss: Anna of Anna’s Island Style is just wow in this cropped brocade jacket, and embroidered jeans. Count on her to wear some eye-popping shoes too.20170904_081207

Stay fabulous, and wear what you love every day,

  1. I don’t even know how I ended up right here, however I assumed this submit used to be great. I don’t understand who you are but definitely you’re going to a famous blogger in the event you are not already. Cheers!|

  2. I find I take electricity for granted until we have a power outage, and then I feel completely helpless. I used to have a long-haired cat that coughed up hairballs all the time; fortunately, Sylvester doesn’t have that problem as I give him an herbal digestive aid with his food.

  3. So happy that you are safe and sound, Patti, and with your personal power as well! 🙂
Beautiful women, gorgeous outfits, that red boho dress especially resonates with me today!

  4. Sounds like you’re having the adventure of camping in your own home! It’s so good to have personal power when you’re off the grid. Knowing that you’re safe is a relief.
You chose to feature some of my favorite bloggers and that you made a post is a miracle!

  5. I’ve been thinking of you, Patti. And with personal power too. Nice to have running water you can turn off and on at your command. And a house, with a spouse and cats! And how thoughtful of you to run the Visibles event rain or shine. Here’s to a quick as can be recovery of all you need, want and desire. xoxox

    • thank you, pao. Having a house, a spouse, and running water, not to mention a herd of cats, is pretty lucky indeed. xo

  6. glad that you’re safe, your house is ok and your kitty has usual cat behaviour to make your life more interesting!
Hope power is restored as soon as possible!
    Thanks for blogging!

My friend in Tampa was saying the same thing about the light switches lololol!!! Glad you’re safe and sound. No off the grid for me, either.

  10. Dearest Patti, all of your readers will be so relieved to hear that your safe and well. I can’t imagine what it has been like to wait for this to pass. Fresh water is a small mercy, but something all the same. I hope your power is restored soon and that life returns to some semblance of normal again soon. And in in the middle of all of this you’re still keeping your blog going – amazing! Thank so much for adding me to today’s line up, so kind!

  11. It’s good to hear you’re ok and I’m keeping my fingers crossed power will be restored soon. My boss lives in Miami and still has no power either. He’s working from a local hospital where there is wifi 😉 Must be awful not to have electricity for days on end … xxx

  12. Aww Patti, you’re so sweet! Thank you! I have been wondering how you guys were down there! Happy to hear your safe and praying for the power to return soon!

  13. Glad to know that you are safe and well albeit powerless! We lost power for over a week with one hurricane. And for over a week I consistently tried to turn on the light every single time I went into the bathroom. I hope you have power soon. Stay safe.
