Boots Are Forever: A Real-Life Fashion Show

Is boot season almost over? Say it isn’t true – I love wearing my boots, but it will be warm in Florida within a month. Maybe booties will work here until summer? The fabulous women of Visible Monday know all about boots, and inspire with a diverse collection this week.

As always, the first tip is: wear the boot styles you love , and own your look. Confidence is all.
And there’s always room in my closet for a fun and funky bootie:

Jaymie of Shop Your Closet looks casual chic in her over-the-knee suede boots. I haven’t tried these yet but they’re on my wish list. Jaymie makes it look cool and easy, and I like her choice of refreshment too.

Carmen of of Fashionable Over 50 is rocking a knit skirt, lace blouse and ankle booties – in the snow. I think that gives us warm climate women an excuse to wear our boots until April. Love Carmen’s textured tights.

Fabulous Anna of Anna’s Island Style is wearing the most glam sparkle booties, along with her sparkle tights. These are news-makers and really liven up any outfit. Click here to see Anna’s whole look.

La Senora of of Sra Allnut loves color and pattern mixing – I am really liking her vintage dress. She anchors it all with low-heeled knee boots in a versatile neutral. These boots will go with everything you wear, and they look comfortable too.

I am a boot-hound too, and this week I wore my old favorite Cydwoq booties. I bought them on eBay about five years ago and still enjoy wearing them. The pattern on the leather makes everything a little more fun. I have lots of other boots too, too many for a Florida woman!

How do you prefer to stay booted? xo

Stay fabulous,

  1. I LOVE boots in all forms. I remember when they were primarily a utilitarian part of the winter look. They weren’t particularly stylish and even when there was a foot of snow on the ground we’d avoid wearing them. Not wise in Minnesota! I recall that changing some time in the 70’s and I think boots have been an important fashion accessory ever since.
I have begun wearing boots year round ; although in the summer they’re always short booties /shoeties. The open toed shoeties are clearly a summer style !
Hey Patti, tell me about your cute ceramic cat!!

    • thanks Marilee – you’re right about the boots utility factor! We bought the ceramic cat unpainted and tried to make it look like our calico – art fail! But we still think of Nola when we see this colorful cat. xox

  2. Thank you so much for including me in your real-life fashion show Patti! Up here in the north we need boots to trek through the slush and snow, and keep our tootsies warm. For you southern gals it’s a fashion statement. 🙂 Believe me, I prefer sandals! I can’t wait to shed these booties! I’m the first one to wear sandals as soon as the snow melts!

    • my pleasure, Carmen. Boots are useful as well as decorative! We forget that in Florida : >

  3. Too funny I was just thinking that I’ve got to stop wearing other shoes and wear my fav winter boots while I can. It will be Spring soon enough and with global warming boot season is getting shorter and shorter even in the cold NE. Do others also go straight from boots to sandals? My in betweens (loafers and ballet flats) get barely worn. At least I am saving money by NOT buying !

  4. I am a huge fan of boots since we are able to wear them 8 months out of the year. Plus I find them easier to walk in.

    bisous
    Suzanne
